TNS media reports that according to their statistic research, episode 20 of ‘City Hall’ has set a record of 19.6% of the ratings, hence became the winner of the overall TV ratings. The drama breaks it own record on the 25th June of 18.3% with an increase of 2%.

Due to the impact of the ‘City Hall’ ratings, the 2 dramas ‘Partner’ and ‘Triple’ ratings remained in single digits. KBS2 TV drama ‘Partners’ has a rating of 7.7% and MBC TV drama ‘Triple’ received 6.8% ratings. These 2 dramas would still lost their ratings to ‘City Hall’ even if both ratings were added up.

In the drama ‘City Hall’, Cha Seung Won and Kim Seon Ah experience troubled mayor elections and government trivial matter led them two to be parted. They could not forget each other and finally this day they would together.

Producer has expressed: “Cha Seung Won and Kim Seon Ah’s acting were full of praise. Viewers felt pain when they watched their breaking up scene, and they felt touched when they watched the proposal scene. Both of them looked quite match. They really looked like a couple. This proposal seems to be like another Korean classic romantic scenes.”

This ‘Rain Controversial’ scene was shoot on the SBS Mountain Park Studios. Cha Seung Won and Kim Seon Ah suffered quite physically just to shoot this scene. Although both of them are in love, but Cha Seung Won has to break up with Kim Seon Ah because of his political status. Secretly he was worried about Kim Seon Ah and came questioning her, in fact he does not know that his impulsive words had hurt her instead of comforting her. The two actors were very professional as they stood in the rain for 6 hours until the director was satisfied with the shooting.

In order for both actors to find the right feeling and mood to act in the heavy rain, they never got to rest during the shooting. Production crews are very concerned. One of the production crew expressed: “Looking at Kim Seon Ah getting soaked in the rain regardless of her health, we would moved by her professionalism and are afraid that she might catch a cold or feel discomfort.”

The drama has received high ratings ever since it started broadcast in 29th April. The grand finale would be broadcasting tonight. Viewers are excited about knowing what would be the outcome of the relationship between the couple, whether they would be together for good.

By watching this drama, I was really touched by their professionalism too. Both Cha Seung Won and Kim Seon Ah were great actors. For those who haven’t started watching, it’s time to catch the drama!

South Korea ‘Cocoa’ plastic surgery cooperated with an integrated advertising agency and organized a survey named ‘The most charming middle-aged man that touches your heart’. They conducted the survey with women age from 20 to 30 year old and had collected 351 responses. With his 188cm height, Cha Seung Won received a total of 27% votes and came in 1st in the top position.

What is the first condition women looked into when they vote for this survey? The first three conditions consist of gentle attitude, young at heart, social status and financial ability, followed by sense of fashion and statue-like face.

This shows that having good appearance isn’t the main condition for middle-aged men to be attractive.

On 22nd June around 12 o’clock during the day, Kim Seon Ah expressed that she was very tired and has abdominal pain. She was then sent to the hospital nearby her house for 4 hours of treatment.

Kim Seon Ah’s representative said that: “Because of the pressure from ‘City Hall’, recently Kim Seon Ah’s schedule was called the ‘murder journey’. Yesterday Kim Seon Ah left the hopsital after 4 hours of treatment. She looked very tired.”

Kim Seon Ah would returned to SBS ‘City Hall’ filming scene on 23rd June.

According to the TNS Media Korea’s statistics, even though KBS2 TV was broadcasting the last episode of ‘That Fool’, the final rate was only 14.4%. On 17th June, when the second last episode was broadcasting, the ratings received was only 15%.

At first many thought that this drama can hit and win over ‘City Hall’ ratings as it was the final last 2 episode broadcasting on Wednesday and Thursday. However it failed to do so. The last episode was showing how Han Ji Soo and Goo Dong Baek finally get married in the church after twists and turns of the 6 months love contract.

Coming up next on the 24th June will be the KBS2 new Korean TV drama series ‘Partner’. Starring Lee Dong Wook, Kim Hyun Joo and Miss Korea (Honey Lee)

I’m looking forward to watch this new lawyer drama too! But I’ll still continue to watch City Hall. What a busy Wed and Thurs I have every week!

At 8 o’clock in the morning on 7th June, Cha Seung Won was filming the SBS Korean TV drama ‘City Hall’ in Seoul. He received a birthday cake prepared by the crews. It was the same day that Cha Seung Won was filming a scene that he was dining with the members of the election in a congee shop.

In advance of knowing that it was Cha Seung Won’s birthday, the production team arrived an hour before him to get ready the birthday cake. When Cha Seung Won appeared, more than 50 staff members began to sing the birthday song together. Cha Seung Won was quite embarrassed. However he blew out the candle and thanked them one by one.

Finally Cha Seung Won shared his hot rice cakes that was given by his fans for celebrating his birthday with the production team and the other actors. ‘City Hall’ will be broadcast till mid of July.

National Civil Service Union expressed that they feel very happy watching Shin Mi Rae fighting hard against the corrupt mayor and his corruption. They mentioned that in the real fact that there are still some leaders of the local governments exist in the state like what the drama had shown. Therefore they strongly urged those leaders of the local governments to start a ‘clean politics’

The person in the union said they are looking forward to watch the Inju City Mayor, Shin Mi Rae on how she would start reveal the her true self as a Mayor. They would also watch this drama and use it as a self reflection and work hard to be a good civil servant so that they would not disappoint the citizens.

The story that broadcast on 3rd June hit the ratings of 16.7% (TNS Media records). The highest TV drama ratings among the competition.

In the coming series which would be broadcast on 3rd June (11th episode), Mi Rae (Kim Seoh Ah) and Jo Gook (Cha Seung Won) were be attending the 2009 International Yacht Show and Competition. They were both left alone on the luxury yacht and in general it was such a beautiful scenery to enjoy a romantic date.

Kim Seon Ah mentioned:” This yacht show in the summer acts as a sweet summer vacation for the actors and TV crews. With very beautiful scenery, particularly the refreshing sea breeze. Even when the director shout ‘Cut’, I don’t feel like coming down from the yacht at all.”

During this period of time when ‘City Hall’ was broadcasting about the delicate love between Mi Rae and Jo Gook, many viewers have been follow very closely to the story. After 11th episode, Mi Rae would be elected to be the Mayor of Inju City, and her relationship with Jo Gook will become more complex with a lot of twists and turns. Therefore bringing the viewers a rise of tension.

City Hall is a story about a 10 level civil servant (lowest rank), Shin Mi Rae who have been elected to be the Mayor of Inju City. Showing the step by step process on how she gain the respect from the people of the city and became their favorite mayor. Besides that, the story also tells about her feelings toward Go jook. The political disputes in the story have also become the key to next episode of the story.

Jo Gook finally started to develop wonderful feelings towards Shin Mi Rae, however he reacted his feeling in a funny way. That’s why the main reason for the sharp rise in the ratings. Jo Gook and Shin Mi Rae both embark on a bicycle trip. In the journey, Mi Rae disclose her true feelings towards Jo Gook. However, Jo Gook in particular replied her that not to believe in men especially someone like him to make it a clean break.

Having spending the night with Jo Gook in a tent, Jo Gook proposal that Mi Rae should participate in the election for the Mayor of Inju City. Mi Rae was furious at first as she thought that Jo Gook’s motive of asking her to go for the trip act as an excuse not to travel with her but to make her participate in the election.

However, Jo Gook confessed that by asking her to participate in the Mayor election act as an excuse to be able to travel with her. Upon hearing this remark, Mi Rae’s heart was touched and excited.

Jo Gook’s delicate feelings towards Mi Rae has finally began!

In her new drama role, Kim Seon Ah demonstrated how she would look like when she get thrown with more than 200 eggs.

In this new Korean drama ‘City Hall’ (시티홀), Kim Seon Ah act as a civil servant role named ‘Shin Mi Rae’. She won the title of ‘Miss champion’ but was unable to get her cash prize. Due to this, she went on for a strike alone. In the end, more than 10 individuals people were throwing eggs at her. Her beautiful dress and championship crown was covered with egg white and yolk.

Producer stated that those villages who were standing there watching were shocked when they saw the whole shooting process. The same scene of the 10 people throwing eggs at Kim Seon Ah kept repeating until the villages commented that it was so surprising and this scene look so real to them. They felt so tense up and anxious. As they did not expect the actress (Kim Seon Ah) to be suffered so much and feeling pity for her.

Kim Seoh Ah said that she had never in her life been thrown with so many eggs. Normally she would not cry during any filming, however the feeling of being thrown with more than 200 eggs had made her dropped her tears. Her face, head, neck to toe was swollen and covered with bruised. She stated that she still feel fear in her when she recall the scene.

The scene would be broadcast in the Korean drama ‘City Hall’ (시티홀) on the 14th May 2009.
