Have you ever wonder where do Korean artists bought their stylish and unique hats? Today I’m going to introduce a very famous hat shop in Apgujeong. Many artists like Goo Hye Sun, Hyun Bin, Kim Seon Ah, BoA, JunJin, Choi Ji Woo, K Will, So Ji Sub and Lee Byung Hun have wore the designer’s hats before.

The hat shop name is ‘kAoRi’ 카오리 . The name ‘kAoRi’ means ‘scent’ in Japanese and this brand name is created by Mr Lee Hyung Ryul who is the designer of all these hats and caps displayed in his shop.

He named his shop name ‘kAoRi’ as he is always looking for ‘Scent of urban life’ which could be made by the harmony of fashion, street life and his creative hats and caps.

The shop was established in December 3rd, 2004. The owner and the designer Mr Lee Hyung Ryul was crazy about hats. He graduated from Chung Ang University College of Clothing and Textile Design in Year 1998. In Year 2002, he went to Tokyo Bunka Fashion College of Arts & Crafts to study hat design.

From there, he realized how important hats can helps modify a person looks and appearance. He started to design many different styles of hats and created his own brand.

All his hats in the shop are hand made and manually sewed. He only produced 10 to 15 each for every different designs. His designs are mostly neutral and pragmatic. The designs consisted of Hunting, Cap, Hat, Casquette and many more.

You can randomly match your clothes with your hat. You can have one of his designed hat and have different ways of wearing it.
