Starting from this month 26th to 25th November, Seoul City will be having a 2 months ’2009 Seoul Offer Season’ activities. Hundreds of shopping centers, hotels and restaurants will offer a maximum of 50% discount and hold up various events.
The aim of this Seoul offer season activities is to create Seoul City in a ‘shopping paradise’ during this low season for Korea tourism. It is to encourage more overseas visitors to come visit South Korea for sightseeing during this low season. The event started last year. During the event, famous shopping streets and restaurants will be providing a wide range of activities such as discount sales and giving out gifts and so on.
Unlike last year which the event are only meant for foreigners. Anyone who carry coupons or vouchers this year can enjoy these discounts too. Therefore even Korean can enjoy all these activities. This year activities include performances, beauty, medical tourism, banking and communications. The number of participating enterprises have increased to 516 of them.
Seoul representative shopping districts like Dongdaemum, Myeong-dong, Namdaemum and Itaewon shopping street and other places will be holding a variety of promotional activities. All duty free shops in Seoul and trendy shopping center, Yeoju Premium Outlets will be selling branded products and cosmetics at low prices.
41 tourist hotels will be giving special discount and offer accommodation prices. During the special week of the event, organizer will also launch activities like movies week, palace week, beauty and health week, night shopping week and hotels week.
During the movie week (11th – 17th Oct), the Lotte Cinema, Myeong-dong, Yongsan and Apgujeong CGV in South Korea will provide added services like Japanese and Chinese subtitles.
During the palace week (18th – 24th Oct), Unhyeongung and Gyeonghuigung will be holding weddings, Korean traditional clothes wearing and other cultural activities to experience the traditional court.
