Every year when winter is about to come, young people in Korea would wait for the arrival of the first snow. Whenever they encounter the first snow, they would send out mass text messages to their friends and ask them to see it as soon as possible.

So are they planning to do something when the first snow come? To make a wish of course! There is a belief that if you make a wish when the first snow come, your wish will come true.

I checked with one of my Korean friend whether do Koreans have such a belief, she told me that she has heard of it but she does not believe it.

Next time if you happen to encounter the first snow in South Korea, try to close your eyes and make a wish and you will know if the belief is true or not.
