A recent poll has shown Korean actor Hyun Bin is the No. 1 Hallyu star in Thailand. In a survey conducted by the Thailand’s largest Hallyu portal site Pantip.com, Hyun Bin topped the survey as their favorite Korean actor.

The 28 year old actor beat out most  of the Korea’s top celebrities including Rain, So Ji Sub, Lee Jun Ki and Jang Geun Suk.

Three dramas that Hyun Bin starred in also ranked within the top 20 of voters’ favorite dramas. They are “My Name is Kim Sam Soon” in the 4th place, “Snow Queen” in 14th place and “The World That They Live In” in 20th place.

Both “My Name is Kim Sam Soon” and “Friend, Our Legend” have been showing in Japan starting last month. “My Name is Kim Sam Soon” airs every afternoon on Fuji TV’s public network as part of its newly established ‘Hallyuα’ project and “Friend, Our Legend” on BS Fuji, Fuji’s digital satellite broadcasting station.

One of the representative expressed: “As the broadcast of these 2 dramas in Japan, Hyun Bin’s popularity has increased tremendously.”

Hyun Bin, whose real name is Kim Tae Pyung, made his debut in 2003 with the KBS drama “Bodyguard”. He has been dating with the top Korean actress and co-star of “The World That They Live In” Song Hye Kyo since last year.
