Seoul city released news on the 17th Jan that they will appoint Korean popular actor, Jang Geun Suk (23 years old) as the ambassador for Seoul.

The Seoul City Mayor expressed in his personal blog that: “if a person who is well known to the public like Jang Geun Suk expresses concern over the city of Seoul, it may have a tremendous impact on the public. Therefore I am very pleased and hope that his fans will care, conern and cherish the Seoul City.”

As Jang Geun Suk will be appointed as the ambassador for Seoul City, he will be responsible of promoting Seoul not only in Korea, but also during interviews with Japan, China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

The official appointment of Seoul’s ambassador will be held on the 21st Jan, at 3 pm in the government’s west wing office.
