Sharing a passion for Korean drama and culture
The original name of the shop was called ‘Fruit Garden Mama’. It was actually an old and ordinary coffee house near Hongik University, Seoul.
It was then remodeled when the director selected this place for filming the drama. During the filming of the drama, the coffee shop was packed with fans who wanted to catch a glimpse of the actors and the production process.
After all the filming of the drama came to an end, the owner of the coffee shop left the designs and layouts unchanged. He also remain the signboard and the name ‘The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince‘ as his shop name.
Visitors who are visiting the place now can still find the Sunflower painting on the wall and some of the props that was left there from the drama. However any customers who want to take photos inside the coffee shop would need to order either a drink or a cake. The 2nd storey of the shop are not opened to public. (this is a scene where Han Kyul was sitting outside the balcony reading Eun Chan’s SMS)
I read about an article that visitors complaint that the drinks are quite
expensive and the staffs did not do a good job of keeping the place tidy.
Nevertheless, if you are a great fan of ‘The 1st shop of Coffee Prince‘, you should stop by the shop for a cup of coffee and enjoy the memories of the drama.
PS: I’m looking forward to go there in my trip to Korea! Because I am a
Coffee Prince fan! Hee..
