Bae Yong Joon who was appointed as the ambassador to promote Korean tourism last year October, appeared in a special commercial to promote Korea and the “2010-2012 Visit Korea Year” campaign.

“We expect this television commercial to create a huge sensation overseas,” explained Mr Roh Young Woo, Managing Director of Visit Korea Year Committee. “We hope that viewers overseas will become more interested and more fond of Korea through watching the commercial.”

The commercial started airing Friday in Japan on DATV and will be broadcast soon in other regions.

Bae Yong Joon, 37, has been actively promoting Korean culture in Asia since shooting to stardom in the region after starring in 2002 hit TV series “Winter Sonata” alongside actress Choi Ji Woo.

Last year, he released a photo essay titled “Discovering the Beauty of Korea”, which contains self-taken photographs of various cultural artisans that the actor met during his year-long travel around the country. He authored the book in order to introduce Korean culture such as food, tradition and travel locations.

On 5th November morning, Bae Yong Joon’s company representative expressed that Bae Yong Joon’s has basically recovered after the treatment and soon will be fully healed.

Bae Yong Joon collapsed suddenly on 17th September and was taken to hospital. From the initial symptoms, the hospital then confirmed that he was diagnosed with sepsis.

Bae Yong Joon’s physical condition further deteriorated when he was promoting his travel book in Japan. Therefore he has to cancel all his activities and rush back to Korea for treatment.

Anime Winter Sonata meeting session was held on 29th September in morning at Tokyo Bay Court Club in Japan. Bae Yong Joon expressed: “Thanks to the blessing from everyone that I was able to go back seven years ago to feel the Winter Sonata’s first love, warmth and happiness. For that I am really very happy.”

Choi Ji Woo said: “I have deep feelings in this seven years. I hope to bring joy and happiness to the people who like ‘Yu Jin’ in Winter Sonata.”

Since 2002 KBS Korean TV drama ‘Winter Sonata’, it have been 7 years that both Bae Yong Joon and Choi Ji Woo have come together again to voice for the anime Winter Sonata since 2002 KBS Korean TV drama ‘Winter Sonata’.

The meeting session attracted more than 100 Korean and Japanese media, and 250 journalists have come to the interview.

The anime Winter Sonata consists of a total of 26 episodes and each series is 30 minutes. It will be broadcast on the 17th next month through the Japanese commercial satellite broadcasting ‘Sky perfect TV’ and on the launching of the entertainment channel broadcast DATV on 1st October.

Korean Hallyu Star Bae Yong Joon has already became a writer. He made the above remark during the publication conference of his travel book ‘The Journey in Search of Beauty of Korea‘.

He added and described the background of writing this book: “If foreign fans can understand the traditional culture and emotions, they will have a new sense for South Korea.”

Many Bae Yong Joon’s ‘teachers’ attended the publication conference, the potter master, traditional art research master, painting artist and the famous singer Yoon Jin Chul.

After spending a year time, traveling the country and masters all the different skills from his ‘teachers’, he wrote all his experiences about Korean traditional culture in his book.

Not long ago, Bae Yong Joon has been hospitalized due to septicemia. He expressed in the conference: “I’m sorry for causing everyone to worry for me. It’s great to see all the teachers here today, my whole body is full of energy and is gradually recovering.”

He continued: “As an actor I have fewer activities nowadays which I need to apologize to my fans. I’m currently in the mist of selecting my next performance.”

Bae Yong Joon’s company BOF expressed: “Bae Yong Joon has been discharged around 5pm today. His health has been recovered greatly. Currently he was perparing for his travel book publication which will be held on the 22nd September.”

Bae Yong Joon was fainted due to a sharp drop in his blood sugar and blood pressure. He was sent to one of the hospital in Seoul, Gangnam on the next day. Medical check up shows that he was diagnosed with early symptoms of Septicemia.

Bae Yong Joon wrote in a collection of his essays that in order to complete his travel book ‘The Journey in Search of Beauty of Korea’, he lost about 10 kilograms.

The representative expressed: “There are no other symptoms found. His health has been recovered with enough rest. There shouldn’t be much problem.”
